John has more than 34 years experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. He is a registered play therapist and registered play therapist supervisor.  John is currently the President of the Utah Association for Play Therapy and has served on the board as a founding member for the past 23 years. John also has experience as an adjunct university professor and is a nationally recognized presenter on sandtray and expressive therapy.

John completed his masters in social work from Brigham Young University in 1987 and received his license in clinical social work in 1989. He has enjoyed serving in the community for many years with the Boy Scouts of America. His hobbies include running, biking, hiking and traveling with his family. He and his wife of more than 34 years have nine children and four grandchildren.
